District 1:
Stephen Colley caused a stir that led to the incumbent spending $45,000 to keep her seat - for an unpaid water board position. His unbought votes accounted for 18%.
District 2:
If there was a runoff, Annalisa Peace would be in it (plurality not majority election). She came in second by 382 votes. With double our volunteers (four more) on Election Day we would have won this one.
District 3:
Incumbent George Rice won with no opposition - he wasn't on the ballot for that reason.
District 7:
With 56% of the vote, Enrique Valdivia is now a member of the EAA.
Thank you!
Thank you to George, Annalisa, Stephen and Enrique for running. Thank you to the volunteers from the Green Party for helping make this happen by blockwalking, phone calling and pushing cards on E Day: Herb Gonzales, Jr., John Alexander, Joleen Garcia, AJ Worthy, Keith Lyons, and me (kat). If you helped out financially or by putting a sign in your yard, we appreciate you as well!
Chief Justice of the TX Supreme Court:
Charles had a good showing for a write-in candidate with no media publicity. In Bexar County he received 656 votes split about even between E Day and Early Voting. The final results are odd. In Galveston County there were over 21,000 early votes reported, but the final total was around 201. We are still waiting to hear what the deal is with this large discrepancy. You can see these results and more at http://207.200.23.22/ - click on 2006 General Election. Congressional Districts 21, 23 and 28 can be found under 2006 Nov. Special Elections.
Other:
There will be a runoff in District 23 - Bonilla vs. Ciro Rodriquez - all are encouraged to help with this election to finally unseat Bonilla. More details to come.
Thanks again to all Campaign Workers - think about how few people worked on the election and what we achieved. Imagine where we'd be with a few more volunteers!
