(sorry not to have shared sooner... This is an edited version, cutting out some personal stuff, such as cell phone numbers, since this posting is open to all.)
Has anyone seen or heard from Jim Reed? I haven't in years.

HERE is most of what beloved Jane sent me:

Dear Art,
Thank you for volunteering to take over coordinating the Green Party of Texas 2007 convention planning. I'm starting a demanding new job but will likely have time later in the spring to help build attendance.
Our principal contact in Marfa -- other than the Green mayor David Lanman, , who is up for re-election in May -- is at the Chamber of Commerce:
SAARIN KECK
Pizza Foundation
Drawer D
100 East San Antonio Street
Marfa, Texas
Her e-mail is "pizza foundation"
The contact for the Amvets hall is Manny Lujan. Saarin has reserved the hall for us. I have not talked directly with Mr. Luhan and that probably should be your first act after sending Saarin a hello e-mail. I also have not asked Saarin whether we will have round-the-clock access to the hall (cooking, planning, greeting late arrivals) or whether it has a/c. We do know it has a kitchen facility (but not whether it has utensils, pots, pans, refrigerator) and tables and chairs. No PA. The cost of the weekend was quoted to me as 225.
People who can help out with homestays and other practical details are Barry Rleese (Houston and Marfa), and the Marfa-based cartoonist and anti-nuclear activist Gary Oliver.
Our best contact in Alpine is the first organizer of the Big Bend Greens, Vaughn Grisham. I do not have his current e-mail or phone numbers but believe Jim Reed in Austin does. I'll copy Jim on this e-mail and ask him to send Vaughn and Jenny's home telephone number and e-mail to both you and me. There are two Greens on the Alpine city council and quite a few sympathizers around town. You may also want to recruit Tip Chesney in Jeff Davis and Bill Addison in Hudspeth County. If there are only 20-30 Greens to be accommodated, our Marfa contacts should be enough. If we have a much larger convention, we're going to need help from Alpine, Fort Davis, and the region.
