Texas Land Trust Council Conference

The Texas Land Trust Council (TLTC)'s 2007 statewide conference will be held in Austin from January 25-27, 2007 at the Austin Airport South located at 4415 IH-35 South, 78744.

TLTC was established to promote and sustain the conservation efforts of land trusts in Texas. Land trusts are a creative answer to today’s land conservation challenges. Over 45 land trusts in Texas protect over one million acres of farms, ranches, wetlands, wildlife habitat, urban parks, forests, watershed, coastlines, and river corridors. Texas landowners have a variety of options available to them, which can preserve and protect the special qualities of their property. The land trust organizations work with landowners to help them meet their long-term land use objectives. These organizations may be willing to purchase land or accept donated properties and easements for conservation purposes. These tools can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the property owner. The annual Land Trust conference helps continue this effective approach to land conservation by providing training, collaboration, and networking opportunities.
