While the Republican and Democratic Parties hold their precinct conventions on the day of the Primary Elections, the Green Party (as well as the Libertarians) holds precinct conventions on the second Tuesday in March, as prescribed by the Texas election code.

Precinct conventions are the first step for participating in the electoral process. At the precinct conventions, we will elect delegates to the county conventions, to be held on the following Saturday. At the county conventions, some nominations are made for local offices and delegates are selected for the State Convention in June.

Participation in the precinct conventions is open to any registered Texas voter -- provided that she or he did not vote in the Republican or Democratic primary.
