1--County updates / Request for county DB information for statewide DB

Houston
Alfred got around 6% on Houston City Council (against an incumbent)
Jolanda Jones (endorsed by HCGP for Houston CC at-large) - led the pack with 29%, going to a runoff
Art went to protest Bush at Cornyn fundraiser today
Anti-DP March over 200 people from a variety of groups - lots of speeches, HCGP had an opportunity to speak (Deb Shafto) and were seen being green!

SomerFest - "This is a GREEN event." low attendance, but all had fun

Austin
Richard Green from Air America was in Austin, trying to get back on the air on local station
Fundraiser for NOKOA, local progressive paper, needing a boost
GP fundraiser - Dec 11

2--Future Focus / Green Wire updates - first Green Wire came out, Doug put it out quickly
(this item diverged into a discussion on voting results - money for jails, ballot access, etc)
have 2500 (1700 good) email addresses in dbase for sending notes
SoS said no to online petitioning, but sent alternate suggestion - people can type it all in, then print, sign and mail - another avenue for getting signatures - suggest folks print their own, get 9 more and turn it in (notarized)
Who will be our candidates? Waterbury, vet from Iraq (has missed meetings), Ed Lindsay has shown interest to run as state rep, local Houston activist (usually involved in Dem party)
how to get candidates? Libertarians are working this by going around looking,
part of bigger problem of not getting out to the masses - letting folks know who we are, have discussed solutions, but not implemented
Advertising worked for finding Kay, need organizer
need to get out and recruit new folks
how to find an organizer? (fundraiser or administrator) check out monster.com etc
ask via National (GPUS) committees
local activities are helpful
Doug is going to spend more time on ballot access (resigned from soccer board)

3a--GPUS nominating meeting delegate support
history: we purchased spots for GPUS annual meeting in Reading to get reduced price, didn't work out
gptx not going to purchase for 2008 (adopted by consensus)
Doug Reber will send communication that GPTX expects to help with expenses to pres nom convention in Chicago next July and encourages those who might go to register early at $100. a private donor offers to help with 3. (Thank you, Phil!)

3b--Treasury update: signature cards; change treasurer on all accounts; cancel Compass Merchant, credit cards; financial update; ballot access totals
David Wager is now officially gptx treasurer, need certified copy of minutes where dgw was elected
David will look for copy of signed certified minutes that made DGW the treasurer.
DGW is ready to get into it (bank reconciliation with itransact)
needs state db with details of contributors/receivers - will contact Kay
$9k in bank right now
"Impeach Now" forum settled - Doug will check. gptx issued 4 checks totalling $1400 and received about $800, Doug owes gptx difference

4--Ballot Access: progress update on the plan; Doug's Electronic Petitioning letter to Sec. of State
next ballot access committee call - Nov 26, same night as cobb house party in houston

5--Administrative:

6--Filling open SEC positions (co-chair position is open)
